AYANEO’s Dual-Screen Flip DS handheld is now up for pre-order on Indiegogo

Published Feb 2, 2024

It’s been hard to keep up with AYANEO lately, as they’ve been on a roll releasing a range of interesting products that aim to bring some new ideas into the crowded handheld market.

The Flip series is the latest entry in their ever-expanding catalog, including two new handhelds with a clamshell design and impressive specs. The Flip KB variant features a fully functional keyboard, and the highly anticipated Flip DS boasts a dual-screen setup similar to the iconic Nintendo DS.

Both devices will deliver improvements over the recently released AYANEO Slide, including a 7″ 120Hz screen, an optical finger mouse and an OcuLink Interface for connecting an external GPU.

There are several configurations available for both units, including two chipset options this time around, allowing you to choose between an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U or the more recent 8840U. Early bird prices start at $699 for the keyboard-based model and $739 for the dual-screen Flip DS.

The Indiegogo campaign page has a lot of information if you’re looking for a deep dive into the specs of these new devices.

The Flip series of handhelds will start shipping to customers towards the middle of March for those who pre-order the 7840U version and end of April for the 8840U units.

We can’t wait to get our hands on the AYANEO Flip DS to see all the things we can do with that dual screen setup, including, of course, some DS and 3DS emulation.
